Keeping Exmoor special

Exmoor is one of the 14 areas of the United Kingdom given the highest landscape protection and designated as a National Park.

With high sea cliffs, open moorland and quaint country villages the diversity of scenery on Exmoor is remarkable for such a relatively small geographical area. Exmoor boasts a complex and rich historic landscape that reflects how people have lived in, exploited and enjoyed Exmoor over the past 8,000 years.

Aiming for carbon neutrality

As an area of such national importance we all need to play a part in keeping Exmoor special to conserve and enhance the natural beauty for future generations. Exmoor National Park Authority is working with Exmoor businesses, residents and visitors to generate funds to become a carbon neutral tourism destination, which, even for a National Park, presents a significant challenge.

Please consider paying for the carbon emissions of your journey by making a donation online at www.carbonreinvest.com

CareMoor

Exmoor National Park Authority is also working with Exmoor businesses, residents and visitors to generate funds through its environmental support fund (ESF), CareMoor for Exmoor.

Money generated is used directly to help conserve and enhance Exmoor under four themes - Conservation, Archaeology, Rights of way and Enjoyment. All funds raised by the ESF are spent on these projects. Read more at www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk/caremoor.
