The Golden Horseshoe is the longest running and toughest endurance horse riding event in Britain. The first Golden Horseshoe Ride (a 50 mile route) was organised on Exmoor in 1965, and after moving around the country several times, it settled in its now permanent home of Exford in the early 1970s.
It has since developed into its current format, offering something for everyone.

For the competitive riders there are four different classes - 50 miles in one day, 50 or 75 miles over two days, and the ultimate Golden Horseshoe Ride itself, of 100 miles over two days.
Locals and visitors can enter the 'Horseshoe Pleasure Ride - a choice of 10 or 15 miles is on offer, with the option of raising sponsorship for the nominated charity.
For the non-riders, we have a variety of local produce and craft stands, and displays and demonstrations including dog agility training.
